Welcome to efbip.org, before you join, you must read and agree to the Acknowledgement, “The Promise” and any future amendments.
Please note that the below “Acknowledgement” is merely stating the current industry practices followed by a few individuals and it is not targeted towards any specific individuals or organizations. You agree to follow the mentioned below in the terms of a good-faith agreement (“The Promise”) – you are responsible to practice “The Promise” in its entirety or in part as it suits your organization. Efbip.org or any of its affiliates/members are not held responsible or liable for breach of the below mentioned “The Promise”.
Acknowledgement
I, (Name), affirm that current industry practices have directly contributed to the defamation of our industry’s character.
I acknowledge that the mentioned violations below has presently and in the past continued to contribute to the defamation of our industry character.:
1. Some of us do not always treat our filing representative status with high esteem;
2. Some of us have not always treated our fellow filing representatives and city personnel with respect;
3. Some of us have not always carried ourselves in a professional manner (dress, mannerism, language);
4. Some of us have ignored our office’s and client’s calls regarding project updates;
5. Some of us do not respond in a timely fashion to clients’ telephone calls or emails;
6. Some of us sometimes neglect to update clients on project status causing “vagueness” resulting in client agita;
7. Some of us have caused clients to ask themselves at 3pm on Friday, “Where is my expeditor with my After Hours Work Permit?”
8. Some of us have used the phrase “The DOB is currently backed up” when paper work was not filed on time;
9. Some of us don’t always go extra the mile for clients;
10. Some organizations have participated in over charging clients;
11. Some organizations have participated in “under the table” practices;
12. Some organizations have withheld NYC code information from clients in order to avoid being held “accountable” for the information provided.
“The Promise”
I, (Name of Person), hereby acknowledge that change is needed in the expediting industry.
With this acknowledgement I promise to continue to practice better industry practices for the elevating purposes of the expediters character :
1. I will treat my profession and fellow expediters with respect and decorum;
2. I will be a source of support for my fellow expediters in order to facilitate better industry practices and raise our trade’s character;
3. I will treat my industry colleagues (clients; City agency personnel; design professional; tradesmen etc.) with high esteem.
4. I or my organization will eliminate the “I”s; and “You”s and work on “Us” to foster a stronger team with clients; City agency personnel; design professional; tradesmen with the success of the project in mind;
5. I will not use profanity or dress in an inappropriate fashion while I function in my filing representative duties;
6. I will answer my client’s telephone calls and emails in a timely fashion;
7. I will treat all my clients projects as they were my own;
8. I will go the extra mile for my client on ALL projects;
9. I will be proactive, paying attention to each detail and careful to ask the right questions;
10. I will patient, attentive, and thorough;
11. I or my organization will be fair-minded on all fees (NO price gouging).
12. I or my organization will intentionally provide legal, transparent and “ON the table” practices;
13. I or my organization will access each project and apply all applicable NYC Code to produce a legally compliant project;
14. I will receive all comments on my or my organization performance as constructive criticism and implement corrective strategies;
15. We hold ourselves accountable for all information we provide.
16. I or my organization will acknowledge our shortcomings past and future and promise to address them and implement correct strategies.
THEREFORE I OR MY ORGANIZATION PROMISE TO “LIVE THE CHANGE”.
